Green Recovery Tec “Report on the completion of the adopted project in Reiwa 2(2020) with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry – CO2 disposal and decarbonization”
Adopted theme
Our company has been selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for the CCUS International Cooperation Project, which is part of the FY2020 Research Project on Infrastructure Development for Bilateral Credit Acquisition, and we have completed the project soundly.
The adopted theme was “The business feasibility evaluation of ‘CO2 disposal technology from the high-concentration CO2 in natural gas and producing high value-added products.’” In this report, we confirmed that it is possible to reduce CO2 emissions from not just natural gas, as well as coal-fired power stations and production plants, as such, by introducing this technology (CO2 disposal technology).
Overview of CO2 disposal technology
This technology is a method of converting CO2 itself into other substances using new materials. Notably, it does not require new energy because it can be mixed and converted at room temperature.
We expect that this technology will enable the development of undeveloped natural gas fields with high concentrations of CO2 contained in natural gas and thus help meet the increasing demand for natural gas. Furthermore, I think we can contribute to decarbonization by 2050, which was advocated by Japan.
