What is Cat?

CAT (Centre for Alternative Technology), about 360 km from the centre of London in England, was founded in 1973 on the site of an abandoned slate quarry in Mid Wales.  It was build based on the purpose of establishment as a community centre for experimenting with alternative technologies in response to the growing concerns about the environmental impact of fossil fuels and the oil crisis of the 1970s.
For over 45 years, CAT has inspired people, informed and pursued sustainability, and now has created practical solutions for controlling environmental destruction. And they have been developing even bachelor’s degrees and degrees. These facts are well known.
CAT has a long history of research and innovation, from early wind power experiments that helped develop modern wind turbines to prototyping solar power.
Through these activities, the CAT contributes to the environment. Still, because it is located in the middle of nature, it is far from London, as mentioned above. If you go by train, change to a branch line from Birmingham to Machynlleth which takes 3 hours then be on the bus in 20minutes. I would say it is a typical English country town.  On the contrary, because it is a remote place, it can be said that it is the proof station for the attitude to the environment which only people who are serious about controlling environmental destruction would visit there. Currently, CAT has been selected as one of the BBC “Autumn watch” hosts and offers a way to bring the nature of Mid Wales to the living rooms throughout the UK. I would recommend you to visit there once when you have an opportunity.
