Green Recovery Tec “SDGs and real CO2 reduction technology”
“Declaration of virtually zero CO2 emissions in 2050”, and risk / crisis
With Prime Minister Suga’s declaration of “effectively zero CO2 emissions in 2050,” environmental issues would also be moving on to innovative innovation as well, I think. And, I think it would make a significant contribution to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), which are the universal action goals that people should work on to live a sustainable life while considering the global environment and climate change. In response to this declaration, I can imagine that companies are beginning to build various strategies and tactics toward that goal.
The first to plan, I think, should be raising numerical goals for energy savings. I would say that Japan’s environmental technology has undoubtedly great ability even to lead other countries. In particular, it is no exaggeration to say that technologies such as solar power generation and renewable energy are way ahead. In these points of view, with having Japan’s advanced technology, it may be natural to believe that the declaration “Virtually zero-emission in 2050”, that is, to think that CO2 emissions will be zero 30 years from now.
However, looking at the past, it may be just a scene of history, but unexpecting events, such as the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11 in 2011, and the impact of the new coronavirus that started in December last year may come across. Hence, I believe we need technology that can withstand such an unexpected crisis and risks.
SDGs and a real CO2 reduction technology
It can be said that the driving force that has allowed Japan to continue to develop so far is the diligence of the Japanese people and the creativity that originates from scratch. I may say that how to sustain this creativity would be the origin of the SDGs in a sense. And I think it is essential to have a methodology that makes this origin sustainable.
As my conclusion, that is the technology that can verify CO2 reduction, I might say that it is the philosophy of the SDGs, and that is to have a real CO2 reduction technology.
