Green Recovery Tec “Decarbonisation and its proof”
How to ensure decarbonisation
I recall that about a few decades ago, micro-gas turbines’ development was actively pursued between power companies and electrical manufacturers, with the government taking the lead. The idea behind this development was by using it as a private power generator, making it easier to carry out environmental audits in areas where large gas turbines could not be built, such as factories, hotels and large shops. And, they also were putting the liberalisation of the electricity supply in the field of view.
However, it can be said that the enthusiasm for the development of micro gas turbines cooled down before they know it. It was because power generation efficiency is low compared to gas engines and diesel engines, and also the idea of electric vehicles/hybrid vehicles was born due to the strict exhaust gas regulations in California back then. After then, It is no secret that the micro-gas turbine has since been revisited till now in response to the growing focus on environmental pollution, due to its lower NOx emissions than gas engines, but it can be a far cry from its original purpose.
Given this, amid the significant impact of “decarbonisation” in human history, it is essential to establish a method of how to secure it simultaneously as decarbonisation. To put it plainly, it becomes a kind of mundane word of “Monitoring”, but it means how to prove that monitoring’s correctness.
Decarbonisation and its proof
As we
promote decarbonisation, I think this method of proof is going to be
highlighted.
We
can’t go back in time, but I sometimes wonder how much it could have helped
decarbonise the world if the micro gas turbines have been widespread. In a sense, it is not that “trying to stop it or withdraw from it” because we are facing to decarbonisation, it is essential to have a management stance that focuses on universal technological development. And I think this is especially as a proposition imposed on companies in developed countries.
In other words, a technological development that pretends to look ten years ahead and puts off the debate over whether it would be useful at that later time, it is that would not be the proof of decarbonisation.
